To describe day 1 in one word, I’d have to choose the word lengthy.
While I made it through that long day without consuming sugar or wheat, every minute of the day I was wondering if this desire to be healthier was worth it.
I knew the answer. Of course, it was worth it!
To be completely truthful, we were on the road to an auction and went through a Burger King where I got a salad to eat. Without thinking, I ate the salad with the little bit of shredded cheddar that came on it. Once I finished the salad, I realized that was a no no.
Because of the terrible curb-side service, the management offered my husband a slice of cheesecake, which I politely refused. Whew, that was hard. One of my top 5 fav foods would definately be cheesecake in any form or fashion!
So to recap Day 1, I got it 95% right and made a mental note that I need to eat more veggies. I did drink lots of water because I was thirsty more than usual. Exercise was not something I was going to add right now, but I will note here that I do stay on my feet most of the day.
I slept through the night without dreaming cheesecake or chocolate.
As soon as I got on the scales this morning first thing my weight was down 2 pounds! 😀😀😀😀
I know, I know. Some of you will say don’t weigh every day because it will fluctuate, but weight loss is my priority right now so I will keep doing that.
Also note too that I am weighing with my pj’s on. Before coffee I refuse to strip down to my birthday suit only to weigh and put it all back on.
For day 2, I plan go go for veggies, meats and lots of water. I also need to remember to take my vitamins–another habit to make permenant again.
My kids and husband ended up buying a bunch of candy at the auction last night so all day I will be fighting the urge to have a bite of a candy bar from sweet little people that want to share their Kit Kats and Reece’s.
It is truely hard to resist temptation when it comes with this cute smile!
Since it’s Saturday, I won’t post again until tomorrow so I can be with my hubby on his off day.
Thanks to everyone who has shared their tips with me through Facebook and in private messages. Each one is so encouraging so keep it up and comment below too. I have been contacted by women and men that are all on the journey at different points.
