I’ve Been Travelin’ For a Whole Week Now

One week.  

Seven days.

This is the longest I have  ever lastest in any kind of diet or healthy eating.

I don’t say that to brag.  I know me.  I know I could slip at any moment.

Just yesterday as I grocery shopped I searched the aisles for something that met my current diet guidelines:

  • Gluten/Grain-Free
  • Sugar-Free 
  • Dairy-Free 

I didn’t find anything “sweet” I could just grab and wolf down.  But honestly, that’s another nasty old bad habit I need to quit thinking–fast food eaten fast.

Today I realized I have ingredients to make a tasty sweet treat when I find the time.  Thankfully there is Pintrest to help also.  Whatever diet, new habit or specific food you need to leave out of your meals, I almost guarantee Pintrest can help.  (Pintrest, you should hire me!)

Here’s the bottom line: 

If I can do this, YOU CAN DO IT!

As I sit here and fit in this post while my baby girl is taking her weekly ballet lesson, I realize that making new habits take baby steps.  The ballet instructor doesn’t expect all these girls to know and use perfectly all info and all the moves on dance and ballet on the first class.  She doesn’t expect it at the secind class…or the second month…or 8th month. 

No, they are taught and learn with a lot of practice.  At some point they learn more and incorporate that knowledge into what they know, all while praising these precious little girls and having fun.

So, my new cleaner way of eating is like that.  I am learning, but know there is OH SO MUCH MORE to learn. 

And I am practicing and practicing this totally new skill.  Probably the hardest obstacle has been coming up with something healthy for me and my 6 kids each day after I have taught and trained all morning.  I’m ready to rest.  I literally dream of a Domino’s Pizza to call, but know they’ll never come out as far as mu house๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.  Now, there is no box of Hamburger Helper to assist me with a quick, filling meal.

I think my next task will be coming up with more choices in quick healthy lunches and desserts.  I will be sure to share if I get something good cookin’.

P.S.  I almost forgot to weigh-in.  I am down another half pound.  Even if it’s just that much a day, at least it’s going down๐ŸŽ‰

    I know you don’t want to hear it but the sweet craving will go away if you quit cold turkey. You and your family will survive, I promise. But, you know what works best for your family .
